Preparation

Preparations for heading out to Rwanda are gathering pace. Last week I finally booked my flights – flying out on 30th June – and got my typhoid booster. It’s all starting to seem a bit too real now!

I’ve got the next week off work and will be spending it trying to get a bit more organised. Top priorities are learning more about residual/tropical soils (including a meeting with Matt Willis, an expert in the field), getting my project plan and risk assessment together, and meeting up with my mentor, Oliver Ramsden. I also need to apply for a UK police check and get a notarised copy of my degree certificate – essential preparation for a Rwandan working visa.
